Safety Information
Important safety considerations for all attendees
Check Weather
Always check marine forecasts before departing. The gathering may naturally reschedule to July 20 if conditions are poor.
Safety Equipment
Ensure your boat has all required safety equipment including life jackets, fire extinguishers, and signaling devices.
Designated Driver
Always have a sober, experienced operator for your vessel. Consider using the BOATsmart! Designated Driver program.
Safe Return
Depart with plenty of daylight remaining. If staying late, ensure your vessel has proper navigation lights.
Remember that Pottahawk is an unorganized gathering. Each boater is responsible for their own safety and the safety of their passengers.
